As Zelf and the others were on their way to rescue Joe they ran into a guard.

“What are you doing hear,” said a unsure voice.

“Is that you Joe?” asked Zelf with a smile.

“What the.... how did you ......nevermind lets get out of here,” said Joe. They bypassed all the guards and got to the door of the front gate.

“Where are you going?” inquired the guard at the front gate.

“We are uh.....” but Joe didn’t finish the sentence before the guard asked another question.

“What is your name and what is the pass number of this gate,” inquired the graud with a scowl. Before anyone could say a word the wizard struck the man over the head with his staff. The man slumped over and fell to the ground with a thud.

“Hay you!” came a guards voice from behind their shoulder in the distance.  The wizard turned around to see a small band of solders running toward them.

“Good job get ride of him when everyone is looking,” said speed with a grunt.

“Look me, speed, and glitch will be the distraction you guys try to get out of here we will met up at the dark castle,” said the wizard quickly.

“What if some of use don’t make it?” asked Joe.

“Then your on your own,” said the wizard as he began down the road. As Joe and the others watched them go into the distance the little band of solders closed in on them. Joe and the group began to run down the road with the screaming men right on their tails. They bet them around the corner and there was a fork in the road and a huge pile of hay in the middle of it.

“Quick hide here!” said Joe as he looked down the road.  With no hesitation at all they all jumped into the pill of hay that on the side of the road.

“Where did they go?” came a voice from out of the hay.

“I think they went this way,” came a reply as the scuffle of feet went away.

“Are they gone?” inquired Zelf quietly from beside Joe.

“Come on lets go,” said Joe, “we got to get out of here!” Franticly looking around Joe and his companions jumped out of there hiding place and ran to the trees. As they ran they were stopped dead in their tracks by flashes of light down the road were the solders had gone.

“What is that?!” inquired Zelf with a puzzled expression on his face.

“Hay! Giant!” asked Joe, can you see anything down the road?”

“Um.....Well I can see a man with a staff surrounded by about 3 other men.  There are also 2 others laying on the ground. But wait!.... no the man with the staff just through something at one of the men! That man just fell......He isn’t moving.

“Okay that is enough Giant okay guys lets go guys,” said Joe.

“Hold on you don’t know if that guy is good or not. This just could be a trap!” yelled Zelf but to no avail.

“We have no choice but to help that man good or not,” answered Joe.

            “Fine,” muttered Zelf, “let’s go.”

            “Oh! Goody!” squeaked the Giant.

“Alright let’s go! For the last time!” demanded Joe. They quickly gathered their things together and ran down the road as fast as they could toward the flashing lights. Unfortunately they weren’t much help for all the soldiers were already on the ground and the man in the rob with the staff was panting in the middle of the circle of men on the ground.
